Bill Brisk '60

Events and Programming | Book Clubs

I graduated from Brown in 1960.  My honors thesis was on the Puerto Rican statehood issues (which still haven’t been resolved).  I earned my JD from NYU Law School as a Root-Tilden Scholar.  And obtained a PhD in Latin American and International Politics at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.  I held various academic positions at the Inter-American University in San German, Puerto Rico, University of New Mexico, as analyst for the newly-formed Inter-American Foundation, and at Harvard managing the Latin American Scholarship Program of American Universities that ended my academic career so, 15 years after law school I studied for my first bar examination – in Massachusetts – and remained here ever since.  I served as President of the Brown Club of Boston and later President of Brown’s National Alumni Association.  I became an early elder law attorney, taught as adjunct professor at three law schools, and wrote one of the first books on the topic. I’ve recently retired, although I continue to write for legal publications and volunteer regularly in the health field.

Rohan Rastogi '18

Events and Programming | Social Events

I serve as the Events & Programming Chair for the Brown Club of Boston. I'm a Bluenonian from the class of 2018 and graduated with an Sc.B. in Engineering. I intend to revitalize, resurrect, and evolve the Brunonian community via leading the envisioning, conception, and end-to-end execution of superlative events & programming which integrate the extreme and extraordinary range of the Brown experience. Post-pandemic, I organized five (5) events including three monthly socials, a Carberry Dinner, and general programming. I am gloriously excited about the opportunity to engage with the Brown ethos, which I interpret to be one of holism, eclecticism, individual autonomy, self-empowerment, personal advocacy, initiative of action, and constructive irreverence.
