Sheila Walsh ‘01
Sheila serves on the Board to keep spreading Brown Bears pride! Her favorite event is the 2016 Fall Ball – it was held at an interesting Boston venue, there were delicious cupcakes, and great Brown networking. Her favorite memories from Brown are spending hours rowing on the Seekonk River as a part of the crew team, and of course mixing Cracklin’ Oat Bran with vanilla soft serve at the Ratty after practice.
Emily McLaughlin ‘12
Emily serves on the Board because she is passionate about connecting Brown alumni in the Greater Boston area and helping them advance and develop their personal, professional, and academic lives outside of campus. She enjoys club events that include food, drinks, interesting conversations, and good company. Her favorite Brown memories are going to Spring Weekend concerts every year.
Carla Cornejo '10
Carla serves on the Board to continue paying forward the benefits and quirkiness of Brown beyond campus. Carla participates in the BCOB Website Committee. Her favorite events are Carberry Dinners and community service events. Carla’s favorite memory from Brown is getting invited to a professor’s birthday party freshman year.
Esin Sile '96
Esin serves on the Board because she views it as a rewarding way to share and give back to the Brown community. Her favorite events are Carberry Dinners. Her favorite memories from Brown are brown bag lunches while she was a PhD student.
Hanna Adams ‘98
Hanna serves on the Board because she believes in the importance of extending Brown University’s community beyond campus and making it available to everyone who wants to take advantage of it. Her favorite memory from Brown is Commencement Weekend, which she remembers as not only an incredible experience, but the perfect celebration. Her favorite club events are interactive ones where members get an opportunity to participate in something they normally wouldn’t get a chance to.
Allison Baird '91
Allison serves on the Board because she loves to connect with and make connections between alumni and current students at Brown. She enjoys planning and participating in the networking events to learn about the diverse endeavors of other alums. Her favorite memory from Brown was sneaking into Campus Dance with her dad and friends.
Meghan Bell ‘00
Meghan serves on the Board to help bring together Brown alumni in the Greater Boston area and remain connected with the Brown community. Her favorite memories from Brown are enjoying breakfasts in the Ratty after her morning soccer team workouts and seeing Dave Binder play during Spring Weekend. Her favorite club events include spending evenings on the Charles River with the Brown Rowing Team.
Darren Carmon ‘04
Darren serves on the Board in order to help promote and celebrate the Brown University brand with fellow alums. His favorite memory from Brown—aside from enjoying challenging classes and participating in varsity athletics—is experiencing the spirited atmosphere on a daily basis at the Ratty and getting the chance to connect with so many interesting people during his time on campus. His favorite club event is the annual holiday party.
Chuck Casto '87
Chuck serves on the Board because he love reconnecting with a great institution and many of its very nice alums. He is responsible for club communications. The Fall Party is Chuck’s all-time favorite event. His favorite memory from Brown is graduating Magna Cum Laude and seeing the look of pride on his grandmother’s face, who couldn’t attend college herself.
Cathryn Cluver ‘99
Cathryn serves on the Board to bring alumni of all generations together and help them retain Brown’s unique spirit, no matter what path led them to Boston. Her years on College Hill remain an important touchstone for her professional choices and personal values today, almost 20 years later. Her favorite memory from Brown is working at 95.5 WBRU alongside other fellow radio geeks and cementing friendships at International Student Orientation. The Brown Club of Boston is responsible for introducing this German-American to baseball through its Red Sox events, but she also enjoys the club’s social and volunteering events that build community spirit.
Megan Denault '07
Megan serves on the Board as way to meet other Brown alumni and to help organize some interesting and fun events. The Board has been a fun way to engage with new people, learn their stories, and share some new experiences. Her favorite events are activities like the Nutcracker or theater events, small dinners, and cooking classes.
Allen Feliz ‘03
Allen serves on the Board because he believes Brown alums are the most fun and interesting people on earth and wants to help build a stronger sense of community in the Greater Boston area. His favorite memories from Brown are participating in orientation and unit wars during the first week on campus and witnessing the inauguration of President Ruth J. Simmons. His favorite club events are those that include community service and bring out the most alums (including athletic events and the annual holiday party).
Carolyn Greenberg '79
Cary serves on the Board to help bring members of the Brown community together and to give back to Brown for all it has given to her. She has too many favorite memories from Brown to name!
Khara Gresham ‘10
Khara serves on the Board because she has a passion for community service and interacting with fellow Brown Alums – what better way to combine the two! She can’t pick her favorite memory from Brown, but she’s so thankful for all of the wonderful friends she made who gave her countless memories. Her favorite club events are those that involve community service and outdoor athletics.
Stefan McDonough ‘90
Stefan serves on the Board to reacquaint with Brown students, alums, and faculty, which he considers to be the most interesting and enthusiastic group he’s ever been a part of. He has too many favorite memories from Brown to list, from the first time he heard a New England accent while making his way up College Hill in the cold just off the overnight train from Baltimore, to the graduate class he taught last spring on drug discovery. Other standouts include astronomy nights at Ladd Observatory and the deluxe nachos at ECDC. His favorite club events are volunteering, hiking and outdoor excursions, and author or academic forums.
Lisa McManus ‘82
Lisa serves on the Board because she wants to help more Brown alumni to connect with each other. She believes the people are what make Brown so great and asks, “why lose that after 4 years?” Her favorite memory from Brown is living in French House (La Maison Française), and making amazing dinners.
Elena Togashi '00
Elena serves on the Board to help strengthen Brown alumni connections within the Boston area.She is responsible for marketing. Her favorite event is the Club holiday party. Her favorite memories from Brown are walking across the Main Green and running into friends.

Shannon Johnson '13
Shannon serves on the YAC to facilitate recreating the Brown sense of community that we all loved during our time in Providence, and to share the many wonderful aspects of Boston with new arrivals. One of her favorite events is volunteering at Cradles to Crayons because she gets to meet new people while giving back to the community. Her favorite memory from Brown is passing alums from previous class years during the procession. The excitement was contagious as the walk inverted, and she cheered for alums she didn’t even know!
Gaurav Nakhare '15
Gaurav serves on the YAC to facilitate new friendships within the Brown community. He enjoys mixer events that draw a range of ages and interests, and Inter-Ivy events that help grow social and professional networks. His favorite memory from Brown is camping out at the Ratty all day (aka, the Ratty Challenge) during snowstorm Nemo.
Eric Han '16
Eric serves on the YAC because he I loves Brown and wants to stay connected to the Brown community. In addition, the Club provided great mentorship when he moved to Boston. His favorite events are networking mixers. His favorite memories from Brown involve Ratty breakfasts chatting with friends after weekday all-nighters.
Katya Dajani '17
Katya serves on the YAC because she loves Brown and wants to help foster a greater sense of Brown community in Boston. Her favorite club event are the Inter-Ivy mixers, and she is excited to be involved in planning them later this year. Her favorite memories from Brown are enjoying sunny days on the main green with friends.
Mika Gross '17
Mike serves on the YAC to foster relationships among Brownies even after graduation. She loves events that revolve around food and community service. Her favorite memory from Brown is partying at Campus Dance with her family and friends.
Rachel Ratchford '13
Rachel serves on the YAC to remain connected to Brown, meet alums, and to give back to a university that gave her so much as an undergrad. Her favorite events are career Panels and joint events with other Boston-area clubs. Her favorite Brown memory is walking through the Van Wickle Gates during commencement and being greeted by hundreds of cheering alums; it was a powerful and emotional experience!
Kevin Yan '17
Kevin serves on the YAC to stay connected to the Brown community after college. His favorite club events are the networking mixers, and his favorite memories from Brown involve planning and executing events with friends on campus for the whole Brown community to enjoy.
