The Brown Club of Boston presents The Campus Engagement Initiative Kickoff Networking Reception

Connecting Brown students and alumni interested in Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprise. Featuring remarks from Dean Hazeltine and Professor Josef Mittlemann.

Fast Company Magazine recently labeled Brown as “Start-Up U,” pointing out that “Brown has turned out some of the top young entrepreneurs in the United States.”

Here is your chance to reconnect with that entrepreneurial energy! Looking for a way to give back to Brown, meet student entrepreneurs, and network with other alumni interested in entrepreneurship and social enterprise in Boston?

The Brown Club of Boston is excited to host three of Brown’s most exciting and innovative student groups for a networking event in Boston. Come to learn about how you can get involved with the Swearer Center’s Social Innovation Initiative, Brown’s Entrepreneurship Program, and the Women In Business Program. The student groups are looking for alumni to serve as mentors and advisors for students, as well as to support and judge business plan competitions and elevator pitches. All alumni are welcome, but alumni with experience or interest in business, consulting, finance, law, entrepreneurship, non-profits, social enterprises, and foundations are especially encouraged to attend.

Social Innovation Initiative (SII) is a student led initiative that works to inspire and support student and alumni social entrepreneurs through the creation of a community that expands critical skills, knowledge, resources, and social networks.

Brown’s Entrepreneurship Program (EP) is a student-run organization that acts as the extra-curricular side to entrepreneurial learning. EP provides students with lectures and panels from some of the most successful entrepreneurs in the country, access to our database of 900 entrepreneurs, one-on-one mentors, software for creating business plans, and Elevator Pitch and Business Plan Competitions for students interested in making their idea become reality.

Brown University Women in Business (WIB) seeks to create a foundation of career related opportunities for the undergraduate population across a broad array of industries and professions. Essential to this mission are the components of external mentorship, community initiatives, educational speakers and events, and philanthropy. This group aims to provide a colorful collection of events and partnerships for the entire undergraduate population, planned for and prepared by the perspective of the undergraduate female population.
