With her wise and graceful memoir, "The Plain Language of Love and Loss," Beth Taylor shows the value of living your life before you comment on it. Taylor, a senior lecturer in nonfiction at Brown University, waited decades before writing about the event that forever changed her.
"Beth Taylor's memoir is one of the most tender and moving books I've read in a long time. Written with poise and grace, never falling into self-pity, [this book] will surely touch the heart of anyone who has found the means to salvage a kind of meaning out of great tragedy. This is a book I will not forget."
Tim O'Brien author of The Things They Carried
"[This book] blesses us all with its wisdom and grace. It is a luminous, powerful, and unforgettable book that is ultimately a triumph of the human spirit and a sister's love."
Laura Palmer author of Shrapnel in the Heart
Beth Taylor teaches in the nonfiction writing program at Brown University. Beth has been a feature writer and currently is a book reviewer for The Providence Journal. She has published other work in Friends Journal, and War, Literature, and the Arts, and on the website "Writing Vietnam."
